Western iMedia

Western iMedia is the working name for a special cross-media team of journalists-in-training at Western Kentucky University’s award-winning School of Journalism & Broadcasting.

iTeam members are individually selected from among the top-ranked degree candidates in the school’s news/editorial, broadcasting, advertising/public relations, photojournalism and mass communications sequences. Many are currently enrolled in the capstone courses for their particular majors or in the school’s unique iMedia collaborative-journalism capstone. They are accepted for the staff of Western iMedia based on their skill levels and mix of format specialties.

Our goal is to not just tell a story but to create story environments that integrate all available and appropriate formats – print, video, online, mobile and more – each to its very best advantage, in ways best suited to how contemporary and rapidly evolving consumers intersect news and information.
